The High Flier is based out of Honokohou Harbour in Kona, Hawaii and specilises in catching Blue Marlin, Short Bill Spearfish, Ahi Tuna and Striped Marlin. With beautiful weather year round and being known for having the most amount of Grander (1000lb) Blue Marlin weighed here than anywhere else in the world, why wouldnt you want to come fishing with us!

Great Weather

Its not nicknamed "Lake Kona" for nothing! Due to the direction of the trade winds and the protection from our stunning mountains, the water in front of Kona is flat and calm nearly every day of the year. Add to that the beautiful warm tempretures and abundance of fish, it makes this place fishing heaven! Enjoy the beautiful backdrop of our island as you cruise up and down the coast, and watch the sun rise over the mountain as you make your way out of the harbour on an early morning charter.

HUGE Fish

With this fishery weighing in the most amount of Grander Blue Marlins in the world it is by far the best place to come to try and catch one of those elusive Granders. And even though those Granders dont come along every day, there are a large amount of Blue Marlin over 400lb caught here often, giving you a shot at some pretty sizeable fish. And the abundance of smaller blues are fun to ctach as well, often giving you just as much challenge and fun as the bigger ones.

The High Flier is well known for being a "Marlin Magnet" and has fished well in this fishery for many years. With a recent upadte and the addition of a top class Furuno Omni Sounder it makes finding those big fish even easier. It was built in 1979 and is a beautifully built, comfertable, high quality sport fishing vessel. Along with that you get the use of top quality fishing gear and the knowledge and skill of our Captain and crew, not only helping put you on to the fish but also there to help as you reel them in.

With Captain Simon Brown behind the wheel, along with his knowledagble and hands on crew, you know you will be well looked after. They are known for doing all the hard work to assess condtions, fontkeeping an ear to the ground and working out the best place to head to catch some amazing fish. The team are well equipped, exteremly experienced and great at not only putting you on the fish but helping you to safely and successfully reel it in.

The Boat

A beautiful 1979, 39ft Custom Sportfisher, providing comfort, style and most of all a magnet for the large array of huge game fish throughout the waters off the Kona Coast. Lovingly restored in 2024 to add some new technology in the way of the amazing Furuno Omni Sounder, and an upgarde to the interior, hull and a new paint job to help make your fishing adventure one to remember.
